May I have a friend come with me during a session? The answer is yes.  The presence of another person does not affect the quality of the hypnosis session from Darcy’s perspective.  What you need to consider is whether you are comfortable in sharing the information that may be revealed during your session with whomever you bring with you.

Is hypnosis rejected by the Church?  The Roman Catholic Church has issued statements approving the use of hypnotherapy.  Most other denominations accept the ethical use of hypnotherapy for physical and emotional healing, or have no official position.

Is hypnosis going against my faith?   Hypnosis is neither anti-religious nor pro-religious.  It can be used for good or bad, as is true for all things in life.  If you feel that your spiritual views are going to be compromised by using hypnotherapy, you should talk with your hypnotherapist and priest/pastor/rabbi.  Hypnotherapy and faith can work hand in hand to provide an abundant life.

How should I choose a hypnotherapist?  Many hypnotists lack the deep and thorough education necessary to help you in a professional capacity.  As in choosing any health care professional, care should be exercised in selecting a hypnotherapist. Hypnosis and the use of hypnotic therapies are not regulated in most states, and hypnotherapists are, in most cases, not state licensed in hypnosis.

Are medicine and hypnotherapy compatible?  Yes.  The rules of good medicine also apply to good hypnotherapy.  As in all professions, there are well qualified, ethical practitioners, and others who are not.  The American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have approved hypnotherapy for use by professionally responsible individuals.

Is hypnotherapy ‘mind control’?  Clinical hypnotherapy is a contract between the therapist and patient in which the patient agrees to the parameters under which hypnotherapy will be used and the outcomes desired.  Even under hypnosis, individuals are not able to do anything that is against his/her will.  Many people base their assumptions about hypnotism on stage acts

Does a hypnotist possess some mystical ‘power’? There is nothing magical or supernatural about hypnotism.  Although, the benefits of hypnosis are well established it remains misunderstood in the minds of the general public.  You should always determine the extent of the training and experience of a potential hypnotherapist before using their services.
